Belgian waffles are sold hot from patisserie windows, ubiquitous griddles in shopping centres and trolleys at special events. There’s even a booth in Brussels Airport. They are served with a sprinkling of icing sugar or, more creatively, with a range of fruit, syrup, ice cream or chocolate toppings.
